Poker has become world celebrated as of late, with televised championships and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, arcs back in reality a bit further than its television scores. Over the years several variations on the original poker game have been developed, including a handful of games that are not in fact poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to 21 than traditional poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer rather than each other. The winning hands, are the established poker hands. There is no bluffing or different kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the croupier declares "No further wagers." At that moment, both you and the house and of course all of the other players receive five cards. Once you have observed your hand and the bank’s 1st card, you must either make a call wager or accede. The call bet’s value is akin to your beginning bet, meaning that the risks will have increased two fold. Surrendering means that your wager goes instantaneously to the dealer. After the wager comes the face off. If the casino does not have ace/king or better, your wager is given back, with a sum equal to the ante. If the bank does have ace/king or greater, you win if your hand defeats the casino’s hand. The dealer pony’s up chips even with your original bet and fixed odds on your call wager. These odds are:
- Even for a pair or high card
- 2-1 for two pairs
- 3-1 for 3 of a kind
- four to one for a straight
- five to one for a flush
- seven to one for a full house
- 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
- 50-1 for a straight flush
- 100-1 for a royal flush
