NL Texas Holdem Poker- Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer grew up in a family of 5 where he liked playing numerous card games when he was young. He found himself getting really aggressive in these particular card games while playing his father. After finishing high school, Howard made a decision to put college on hold for a little while and relocated to New York to play some serious chess. While playing chess, he was introduced to a poker game taking place in the rear of the room. Howard’s 1st 2 years were difficult as he would play extensive hours and do not win most times. He earned some additional cash by being an runner for the poker enthusiasts. He believed he might improve his game by adjusting his life outside of poker. He made an attempt to get more sleep and focus more on the game.

The definite advancement in his abilities began when he began wagering at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon association where the greatest players would often wager against each other. He was able to access several of the greatest minds in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would hone his logical thinking techniques. Howard applied these strategy concepts to the game of NL hold’em.

Howard also assisted his sister Annie Duke master the game of poker. Annie was an excellent student of poker as she constantly asked questions about the right way to make the proper decision. He told Annie to move out to Sin City and play in the WSOP tournaments. Annie is one of the greatest female players the poker arena today. Howard Lederer headed to Vegas in 1993 and participated in cash games for the next decade. When the WPT gained popularity, he made the decision to play more tournaments.
